Establishes a 20-year adverse possession period for real estate in New Jersey.

This bill establishes a statutory scheme for adverse possession in New Jersey, setting a 20-year period for acquiring title to real estate through adverse possession. It clarifies that this period does not apply to publicly-owned or public utility property, or to non-profit or charitable entities with respect to unimproved land used for conservation, recreation, education, or environmental protection. The bill also provides a 40-year adverse possession period for certain previously tidal-flowed property, subject to specific conditions.
