New Jersey A1563 requires the Department of Environmental Protection to develop a plan for the two artificial reefs within state waters, considering their history and current commercial and recreational uses. The plan will establish rules for the use and quantity of fish and lobster pots on these reefs. The bill also allows the Department to apply to the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council to extend similar management to artificial reefs in federal waters. This act takes effect immediately.
