Removes the 2% limit on annual budget increases for certain county offices in New Jersey.

This bill removes the 2% limit on annual budget increases for certain county offices in New Jersey, specifically those of the county tax administrator, superintendent of election, board of election, and register of deeds and mortgages. The bill also removes the limit for county constitutional officers, which include county clerks, surrogates, prosecutors, and sheriffs. This change applies to the portion of the budget requests to be raised by property taxation. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment and applies to the next local budget year following its passage.
