This bill mandates that State employees in New Jersey must work in person if their duties require face-to-face interaction with the public. State agencies must provide reasonable alternatives if a temporary closure is necessary, such as electronic platforms with interactive, real-time, two-way audio or video capabilities. The head of each State agency must publish a reopening plan within 15 business days of the bill's enactment, detailing procedures and policies for in-person work. The bill expires at the end of the public health emergency caused by COVID-19.
