Broadens statute that criminalizes cyber-harassment of minor.

This bill amends the New Jersey statute to broaden the definition of cyber-harassment of a minor, making it a crime of the third degree if the offender is 18 or older and engages in cyber-harassing a minor. The bill eliminates the requirement that the offender must impersonate a minor to be guilty of the offense. It also allows for civil liability for parents or guardians of minors adjudicated delinquent for cyber-harassment if they demonstrate willful or wanton disregard in supervising the minor. The act takes effect immediately.
