New Jersey A138 provides a gross income tax deduction for kindergarten through grade 12 teachers. The deduction is equal to 25 percent of the wages paid by a board of education, charter school, renaissance school project, or nonpublic school to the teacher during the taxable year. This deduction applies to teachers employed by these entities and takes effect immediately for taxable years beginning on or after January 1 of the year following the date of enactment.
