New Jersey A1327 requires institutions of higher education and proprietary institutions licensed to offer academic degrees to notify the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority when a student is approved for a federal borrower defense loan discharge. This notification must occur promptly after the institution receives notice from the United States Department of Education. Additionally, the institution must inform the authority if the student was a resident of New Jersey at the time of enrollment.
