Eligible retired law enforcement officers who retired due to disability can receive tuition assistance for higher education.
New Jersey A1293 allows retired law enforcement officers who retired due to disability to receive tuition assistance for attending public institutions of higher education or proprietary institutions licensed to confer academic degrees. To qualify, the officer must have retired in good standing, have applied for all available federal and state student grants and scholarships, and have been accepted to pursue a course of undergraduate or graduate study or an academic degree-granting program. The state will reimburse the institution for tuition costs not covered by grants and scholarships.
