New Jersey A1249 prohibits state contracts for technology with Chinese government-owned or affiliated companies.

New Jersey A1249 prohibits companies owned by, operated by, or affiliated with the government of China from bidding on or submitting proposals for technology contracts with any state agency. The bill requires companies to certify their eligibility to bid or submit proposals. If the Division of Purchase and Property determines a company has submitted a false certification, the company will face a civil penalty and the contract will be terminated. The act takes effect immediately.
