Introduced Text

New Jersey A1181 allows taxpayers to voluntarily contribute to the General Fund via their gross income tax return.

New Jersey A1181 introduces a provision for taxpayers to make voluntary contributions to the General Fund through their gross income tax return. Taxpayers can choose to allocate a portion of their tax refund or include an additional contribution. The State Treasurer will deposit the net contributions into the General Fund. Any administrative costs incurred by the Division of Taxation can be deducted from the collected contributions. The General Fund is where most state revenues are deposited and from which appropriations are made.
