Introduced·1/13/26

New Jersey A1161 mandates job postings to disclose if they are for existing positions and sets additional job posting requirements.

New Jersey A1161 requires employers to include in job postings whether the position is for an existing vacancy and, if so, an estimated timeframe for filling the position. Employers must remove job postings within two weeks of filling a position. Third-party job posting entities must also remove filled positions within two weeks of knowing or having reason to know the position is filled. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development can audit for violations, and violators face civil penalties. The act takes effect immediately.
