Introduced Text

New Jersey A1110 mandates veterinary facilities to obtain signed consent for unsupervised overnight stays of domestic companion animals.

New Jersey A1110 requires for-profit veterinary facilities to obtain a signed consent form from the owner or the person bringing a domestic companion animal for unsupervised overnight stays. The consent form must include information about the frequency of injuries from such stays. If a veterinarian fails to collect this consent, they will be strictly liable for any injuries or death resulting from the unsupervised stay. Additionally, the veterinarian cannot charge for any veterinary services due to injuries from lack of overnight supervision.
