Requires testing for infectious disease for certain persons who have been administered opioid antidote by first responder.

New Jersey A1087 mandates testing for infectious diseases for individuals administered an opioid antidote by a first responder, if there is a risk of bodily fluid transmission. A public health officer must seek voluntary consent for testing within 24 hours of the request. If consent is not given, the officer must file an emergency application to a court for an order requiring the person to submit to testing. The court may order testing if it finds a risk of infectious disease transmission. Test results are confidential and not to be used for law enforcement or civil proceedings.
