New Jersey A1048 amends existing law to direct unclaimed electric, gas, and water utility deposits in the Unclaimed Utility Deposits Trust Fund to Statewide nonprofit public utility assistance organizations. These organizations must meet criteria including a network of at least 200 partner organizations with a physical presence in every county, a board of directors with at least five utility representatives, and an on-site customer service call center accessible in at least 150 languages.
