Requires telecommunications companies to provide prorated refunds for service outages of longer than 72 hours.

New Jersey A1025 mandates that telecommunications companies, including those offering VoIP or IP-enabled services, provide prorated refunds or credits to customers who experience service interruptions lasting more than 72 hours. The Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is tasked with enforcing this requirement. For VoIP or IP-enabled services, customers must notify the company within 30 days of the interruption to receive a credit. The BPU can establish additional exceptions or limitations.
