Requires workers' compensation, PIP, and health insurance coverage for the medical use of cannabis under certain circumstances.

This bill requires workers' compensation, personal injury protection (PIP), and health insurance coverage for the medical use of cannabis under certain circumstances. It mandates that these insurance plans cover costs associated with the medical use of cannabis for qualifying patients. If payment to the dispensary is not feasible, insurers must remit costs directly to the insured upon proof of payment. However, insurers are exempt from providing such coverage if federal intervention occurs under the Controlled Substances Act.
