Prevents local legislative bodies from altering ballot questions concerning municipal tax caps.
The bill amends RSA 32:5-b, III and RSA 32:5-f, V to ensure that ballot questions regarding municipal tax caps cannot be amended by local legislative bodies. Voting on these questions must be by ballot, and they cannot be placed on the official ballot used to elect officers, except for legislative bodies using an official ballot form of meeting under RSA 40:13 or under a charter adopted pursuant to RSA 49-D. This act applies to any local tax cap adopted before its effective date and does not require local amendment or re-adoption by a municipality, city, or town.
