New Hampshire SB464 strengthens civil rights enforcement by expanding liability for acts of violence and property damage motivated by bias.
New Hampshire SB464 modifies the Civil Rights Act to enhance enforcement against acts of violence and property damage motivated by bias. It specifies that individuals who use unprivileged force, commit acts of violence, cause property damage, or threaten to do so, motivated by hostility towards a person's race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, or disability, are subject to civil liability. The act repeals and reenacts RSA 354-B:1 to clarify these protections and liabilities, effective January 1, 2027.
