SB460

Prohibiting tier III criminal offenders from being present in designated child safety zones absent a legitimate purpose.

Chamber Passed·2/26/26
Text Text

Prohibits tier III criminal offenders from being present in designated child safety zones without a legitimate purpose.

New Hampshire SB460 amends RSA 651-B by adding a new section that prohibits individuals required to register as tier III offenders, due to offenses involving victims under 18, from being within 500 feet of child safety zones. These zones include schools, child care facilities, public parks, and school bus stops. Exceptions include transporting their own child, participating in constitutionally protected activities, and direct travel to or from their residence or employment established before the law's effective date. Violation of this prohibition is a class B felony.
