Expands Medicaid coverage to include GLP-1 medication for certain patients.
Amends the state Medicaid plan to include coverage for GLP-1 medication if a licensed health care provider determines it medically necessary. Coverage applies to patients with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher, or a BMI of 27 kg/m² with weight-related comorbidities. The department of health and human services must submit necessary amendments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services by January 1, 2027.
