New Hampshire HB298 amends RSA 262:7 to create an exception to the prohibition on removing Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) from vehicles manufactured prior to 1981. The bill allows for the removal and reinstallation of VIN tags if it is reasonably necessary for repair or restoration. This exception does not apply if the person knows or has reason to know that the vehicle is stolen. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
