New Hampshire HB1810 establishes a road salt fee to support certified winter road maintenance practices.

New Hampshire HB1810 introduces a fee on bulk road salt, road salt mix, or brine sold to businesses, organizations, municipalities, and state agencies. The fee is $4 per ton, $4 per yard for road salt, and $4 per equivalent salt ton for road salt mix or brine. The fee revenue will be deposited in the road salt mitigation fund, which will be used to fund grants and reimbursements for certified winter road maintenance programs.
