New Hampshire HB1786 establishes a state assessment on luxury second homes to fund housing development programs and address housing shortages.

New Hampshire HB1786 creates a state assessment on non-homestead luxury second homes, defined as residential properties with an assessed value over $1,000,000 that are not used as a primary residence for at least 183 days per year. The assessment is $2.50 per $500 of assessed value above $1,000,000 and will be adjusted annually for inflation starting in 2028.
