New Hampshire HB1769 amends RSA 329 to prohibit publicly funded medical facilities from referring patients for abortions unless a medical emergency exists or a referral to a pregnancy resource center is provided. A pregnancy resource center is defined as a private nonprofit facility that provides pregnancy counseling, material support, or medical care to pregnant women but does not perform abortions or make referrals to abortion providers. The bill also voids contracts made in violation of these provisions and allows aggrieved taxpayers to challenge violations in court.
