HB1705

Establishing an employee assistance program for small town and volunteer first responders.

Complete·7/10/26

Establishes a state-funded employee assistance program for small town and volunteer first responders.

New Hampshire HB1705 creates a state-funded employee assistance program (EAP) for volunteer first responders and full-time first responders from towns with five or fewer full-time, paid first responders. The Department of Health and Human Services will enroll eligible first responders in the EAP, which offers support services for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and post-traumatic stress (PTS). A new fund, the First Responders Support Fund, will be established to manage fees, grants, donations, and interest, ensuring continual appropriation for the program.
