Complete·7/16/26

New Hampshire HB1573 permits excused absences for students participating in civic or career technical education events and mandates school.

New Hampshire HB1573 allows students in public or public charter primary and secondary schools to have their absences excused for attending civic events during school hours. Schools must excuse up to two absences per academic year for civic or career technical education (CTE) events. Participation in activities related to New Hampshire youth advisory councils is always excused. Students must provide evidence of attendance, such as a signed form or letter, to verify the absence. Schools may require students to complete missed schoolwork.
