New Hampshire HB1510 clarifies custody responsibilities for defendants in county correctional facilities.

New Hampshire HB1510 amends RSA 597:2 and RSA 597:7-a, I to clarify that the county department of corrections is responsible for the custody of defendants ordered to a county correctional facility. Law enforcement officers are only responsible for transporting defendants to the facility. If there are unforeseen circumstances, custody is transferred to the receiving facility's officer or agent. The bill also mandates that accused individuals must be brought before a justice for a bail revocation hearing within 36 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.
