HB1480 raises the meals and rooms tax rate in New Hampshire.

HB1480 amends RSA 78-A:6 to increase the tax on meals and rooms. The tax on each occupancy rises to 9 percent of the rent. For taxable meals, the tax is set at four to nine cents based on the charge, with an additional 9 percent tax on amounts over $1.00. The act takes effect 60 days after its passage.
