New Hampshire HB1444 prohibits state and local agencies from purchasing drones not cleared by federal standards.

New Hampshire HB1444 amends state law to prohibit state agencies from purchasing or acquiring drones or unmanned aircraft systems unless they meet federal standards. Effective January 1, 2028, state agencies must only use drones cleared by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2024. Contracts for non-compliant drones are void and unenforceable. The act also applies to local governments, barring them from purchasing drones that do not meet federal requirements. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
