Allows retired state employees to defer earned retirement medical benefits to their surviving spouse.
The bill amends RSA 21-I:30, II to allow the state to pay a premium or partial premium for Medicare-eligible retired employees and/or their spouses for lifetime medical benefits. This change permits retired employees who are eligible for Medicare to voluntarily cease participation in plan benefits at any time and reenroll without restriction. The act takes effect 60 days after its passage.
