Allows parents to authorize caregivers to make decisions for their children without transferring guardianship.
New Hampshire HB1377 introduces a new chapter allowing parents, legal guardians, or legal custodians to authorize caregivers to make decisions for their children without transferring guardianship. Caregivers can consent to medical treatment, access educational records, and make educational decisions. The authorizing party retains ultimate decision-making authority in case of conflicts. The authorization must be in writing, signed, witnessed, and notarized. The affidavit can be valid for up to two years and can be amended or revoked by the authorizing party.
