New Hampshire HB1347 prohibits health care facilities from banning referrals from independent primary care providers if both the facility and.

New Hampshire HB1347 amends RSA 151 by adding a new section on health care referrals. It prohibits any licensed health care facility from prohibiting referrals from independent and outside primary care providers, provided both the facility and the specialist accept the patient's insurance. The attorney general is empowered to enforce this provision. Facilities violating this rule face a $100,000 civil fine per violation and potential loss of nonprofit status if they are nonprofit entities. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
