New Hampshire HB1326 modifies the timeline for declaring special elections for state representative vacancies. It mandates that the governor, or the governor and council, must declare a special election within 21 days after a vacancy occurs or a request is made. For vacancies in city wards occurring between 56 and 77 days before a municipal primary, the governor must declare the special election within 24 hours of a request from the city's governing body. The act takes effect 60 days after its passage.
