Introduced·12/1/25
Text Text

New Hampshire HB1178 modifies window tinting regulations for motor vehicles, allowing after-market tinting on side windows with a minimum light.

New Hampshire HB1178 amends the state's motor vehicle laws to permit after-market tinting on the windows to the left and right of the driver, provided these windows maintain a minimum visible light transmittance of 35 percent. The bill also allows for special permits for individuals with bona fide medical reasons who require after-market tinting on the windshield or side windows. The commissioner may grant such waivers based on recommendations from a medical review board. This act takes effect on January 1, 2027.
