Allows inmates to be employed or enrolled in post-secondary education outside the prison walls.
New Hampshire HB1173 amends the law to allow inmates to be employed or enrolled in post-secondary education outside the prison walls. Inmates may be employed by the state or by public or private employers. If an inmate is released for work or education, they must follow the rules and regulations of the institution and be under the control of the officers. If an inmate escapes or fails to return, they will be punished. The commissioner of corrections can recall an inmate if their release endangers the community.
