Expands the definition of "intimate partners" to include those in current or former sexual or romantic relationships.

New Hampshire HB1158 amends the definition of "intimate partners" to include persons currently or formerly involved in a sexual or romantic relationship, regardless of whether the relationship was sexually consummated. This change applies to both the Protection of Persons from Domestic Violence and the Criminal Code sections of the law. The new definition aims to provide broader protection and clarity in domestic violence cases. The act will take effect on January 1, 2027.
