Extends the right-to-know ombudsman position for 2 years and exempts unpaid complaint preparers from unauthorized practice of law.
The bill amends RSA 91-A:7-b to extend the position of the right-to-know ombudsman for two years. It also exempts individuals who assist in the preparation of a right-to-know complaint at no charge from being charged with the unauthorized practice of law. The ombudsman is prohibited from awarding or ordering reimbursement for attorney's fees. The changes take effect on July 1, 2027.
