Grants the state board of education rulemaking authority over student cell phone use in schools.

New Hampshire HB1055 amends RSA 186:8 to insert a new paragraph X, granting the state board of education rulemaking authority over student cell phone and personal electronic communication device use in schools. It also amends RSA 189:1-a, V to require school boards and trustees to develop policies prohibiting device use during instructional time, with exceptions for medical needs, disabilities, or language proficiency. The state board of education may adopt rules regarding device use in schools.
