Exempts detached buildings with up to 4 residential units from automatic sprinkler system requirements.

New Hampshire HB1004 amends the state fire code and building code to exempt detached buildings with up to 4 residential units from automatic fire suppression or sprinkler system requirements. This applies to both new construction and existing buildings. The exemption does not apply if a local regulation mandates a cistern, dry hydrant, fire pond, or other credible water source. The act takes effect 60 days after its passage.
