New Jersey S78 amends the distribution of funds from the Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation and Enforcement Fund to municipalities. Beginning January 15, 2023, each municipality must report the number of drunk driving arrests to the Administrative Office of the Courts. The amount of funding from the previous year is to be multiplied by 50 percent and then divided by the total number of drunk driving arrests in the municipality for the same year. This amount is allocated to the municipality for maintaining its municipal court, including payments to court personnel.
