Introduced Text

New Jersey S3939 allows dual-use solar facilities to join the community solar program.

New Jersey S3939 amends the community solar energy program to include dual-use or agrivoltaics solar facilities. These facilities, which generate solar power on farmland while allowing continued agricultural use, were previously limited to the Successor Solar Initiative (SuSI) program. The bill permits these dual-use facilities to benefit from the community solar program's incentives. The Board of Public Utilities will establish rules for this participation, including capacity limits, geographic restrictions, and minimum customer participation.
