New Jersey A5482 establishes a six-month moratorium on approvals, construction, expansion, subsidies, and tax incentives for artificial intelligence data centers with an electrical demand exceeding 10 megawatts. The bill creates the New Jersey Artificial Intelligence Data Center Impact Commission to study and report on the impacts of these data centers. The commission will issue findings and recommendations on regulatory standards, tax and incentive policies, consumer protection measures, energy and water usage standards, and labor and workforce standards.
