Nevada SB98 revises provisions governing language education by replacing the term "world language" with "language other than English" in existing law. It directs the Legislative Counsel to make conforming changes to existing regulations when codifying the Nevada Administrative Code. The bill also requires the Department of Education to study the possibility of imposing certain requirements for teachers to obtain an endorsement to teach a language other than English, including education in language acquisition theory and methods of teaching and assessing English learners.
