Extends a property tax for employing police officers in Las Vegas and Clark County.
This bill extends the imposition of a property tax in unincorporated areas of Clark County and the City of Las Vegas for employing police officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The tax rate of 20 cents on each $100 of assessed valuation will continue from July 1, 2027, until June 30, 2057. The proceeds of this tax are to be used solely for employing additional police officers and related costs. The bill also ensures that this property tax rate is not subject to certain limitations and abatements provided by existing law.
