This bill revises provisions relating to education, including competency-based learning, occupational guidance, and tax credits for businesses. It mandates the Department of Education to conduct a public campaign about competency-based learning and establish a pilot program for it. It requires the board of trustees in each school district to offer a course of study in occupational guidance and counseling to pupils in grades 6, 7, and 8. The bill also authorizes the Superintendent of Public Instruction to approve alternative schedules for schools participating in the pilot program.
