Nevada SB377 amends insurance regulations to mandate that health insurance policies cover non-opioid alternatives for purposes where opioids are commonly used. This applies to both public and private policies. Insurers and managed care organizations are prohibited from requiring prior authorization for these alternatives if it would not apply to opioids under the same circumstances.
