SB371A allows local governments to enact affordable housing ordinances unless prohibited by statute.

SB371A revises Nevada law to allow boards of county commissioners and governing bodies of incorporated cities to enact ordinances or measures related to affordable housing, except where expressly prohibited by statute. This bill amends Chapter 244 and Chapter 268 of the Nevada Revised Statutes to clarify and expand the authority of local governments in addressing affordable housing matters. The changes become effective on July 1, 2023.
