SB319A revises the definition of "employee" to include certain peace officers in collective bargaining for state employees.

SB319A amends the definition of "employee" to include category I, II, and III peace officers in the unclassified service of the State for purposes of collective bargaining. This change ensures these peace officers are included in the collective bargaining process with the Executive Department of the State Government. The bill also clarifies that the term "employee" does not include managerial employees, elected officials, confidential employees, temporary employees, Nevada National Guard members, or certain employees of the Nevada System of Higher Education and the Public Employees’.
