SB298

Revises provisions relating to peace officers. (BDR 23-1031)

Complete·6/9/25

Revises the definition of "punitive action" for peace officers in Nevada.

This bill revises the definition of "punitive action" as it relates to certain peace officers in Nevada. It expands the definition to include any action that may lead to the denial of an increase in seniority or compensation for purposes of punishment. The bill also modifies the procedures for the Public Employee Relations Board to hear and determine complaints arising from the interpretation or performance of certain provisions. The Board can now decide without a hearing if all legal issues have been previously decided or if all parties agree.
