Nevada SB244 mandates that the Medicaid program cover intensive health, behavior, and lifestyle treatments for obesity. It also requires coverage for certain surgical interventions for obesity. Additionally, the bill requires coverage for prescription drugs approved by the FDA for chronic weight management in patients diagnosed with obesity. The bill further requires the Department of Health and Human Services to include services of diabetes prevention programs for eligible Medicaid recipients.
